The Robotekin Association has launched a new initiative called Topaketak, an initiative for associated companies, entities and organisations to open their doors to the rest of the robotics and automation ecosystem in order to build a more connected, transparent and collaborative environment.
These types of “visits” to entities within the Robotekin ecosystem have four fundamental objectives: to exchange best practices and technological developments, to strengthen ties and trust, to raise the profile of the ecosystem and to identify common needs.
Each edition consists of a visit to a partner company lasting approximately one and a half to two hours, during which the host company will explain some aspect of its business, in line with the four objectives of these Topaketak events, which are open to all members of the association without exception.
SMC debuts in the first Topaketak
The associated company SMC, located in the Júndiz industrial estate in Álava, was the first to open its doors to the Robotekin ecosystem and host this first Topaketak, which began with a talk.
Afterwards, attendees, including Saray Zárate, Member of Parliament for Industrial Development and Sustainability and Chair of the Robotekin Board, as well as members and partners of Robotekin companies, entities and institutions, visited the SMC facilities to discover the SMC Digital Factory concept in action.
The importance of the initiative
For Saray Zárate, this type of initiative was created with the aim of raising the profile of the robotics and automation ecosystem in the Basque Country. “With this type of initiative, we get to know each other, generate synergies, learn about good practices and technological developments so that we can develop joint or complementary projects. In short, it is about strengthening the industrial ecosystem and generating new opportunities,” said the deputy and president of the Robotekin Association.
‘Connect, share and grow’ is the slogan of the Robotekin Topaketak initiative, and for SMC CEO David Gallego, these three ideas ‘are a perfect reflection of what we at SMC believe this ecosystem should be’.
“Connecting means listening to each other, understanding each other and recognising each other as allies. Only by creating links can we discover synergies that we may not even imagine today. Sharing. Sharing experiences, lessons learned, failures and successes is what will allow us to accelerate our development and that of the ecosystem itself. Knowledge kept to oneself transforms nothing, but shared knowledge multiplies value. And finally, growing. We grow in impact, in innovation and in our ability to transform our environment,” said David Gallego.
For the CEO of SMC, a leading company in components and solutions for industrial automation, a benchmark in innovation, digitalisation, efficiency and sustainability, what defines them is their understanding of the industry. “We are a transparent, open, collaborative company that is deeply committed to people, society and the environment. We believe that knowledge should be shared, that innovation flourishes when it is built among many, and that the best solutions arise when we work with a common vision,” said David Gallego, who did not hesitate to affirm that, for all these reasons, initiatives such as Robotekin Topaketak are so important.
The first meeting was attended by AUTOMACH INGENIERIA S.L., BEREIKER | Industrial Automation, BIC Araba, Aeronautical Technology Centre, IKERLAN, KUKA Iberia, MEKINDU S.A., Rubí Automotive, Smartlog Group, University of the Basque Country, Egibide, as well as Ikaslan centres (CIFP Armeria Eskola LHII, CIFP Mendizabala LHII).
