Tekniker is boosting the development of high added value industrial products and processes by applying technologies associated with advanced manufacturing, surfaces, materials and digitisation.
In its capacity as a leading technology centre, it has made available to the industrial fabric its specialised knowledge, solid technical capabilities and cutting-edge facilities to support industrial sectors in their transformation processes, from the moment an idea is conceived until it is implemented as a real and impactful solution.
Its mission is to help further economic growth and wellbeing by sustainably enhancing the competitiveness of companies for the benefit of society at large. Tekniker forms part of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), the Spanish Federation of Technology Centres (FEDIT) and the European Association of Research and Technology (EARTO).
Among the solutions it offers to industry is the development of automation and robotics applications, aimed at improving productivity, flexibility and production quality, as well as facilitating safe interaction between people and machines. These solutions are applicable across a wide range of sectors, notably aeronautics, energy, big science and healthcare, amongst others.
As an example of this line of work, Tekniker is currently developing a project focused on technologies for autonomous robotic surgery. Its aim is to create a robotic system with autonomous capabilities to assist the surgeon in minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of soft tissue injuries.
