The Board of Directors of Robotekin has appointed Leire Balzategui Urrutia as the new Managing Director of Robotekin-Basque Association of Robotics and Automation- following the selection process carried out to fill this position.

Leire Balzategui holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cantabria, a Master’s degree in Transport Planning and Engineering from the University of Leeds (United Kingdom) and an MBA from ThePowerMBA, training that reinforces her strategic vision and her focus on management and organisational development in technological and industrial environments.

To date, he has developed his professional career in the field of innovation, smart mobility and technological transformation, highlighting his work in coordinating innovation strategies, developing experimental regulatory environments and launching a data space linked to mobility and logistics at the Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz Foundation.

Previously, he held the position of Head of Strategic Areas at the Basque Mobility and Logistics Cluster, where he promoted collaborative projects between industry, academia, government and technology agents.

Balzategui will begin his tenure at the helm of Robotekin by holding a series of meetings and contacts with partners, collaborating entities and agents in the ecosystem to gain first-hand knowledge of the reality of the robotics and automation ecosystem in the Basque Country, thus complementing the actions of the Strategic Plan to expand and position the Robotekin Association as a benchmark in this field.
