The Basque Association of Robotics and Automation, Robotekin, has welcomed a new partner to its ecosystem this month: i + Med.

I+Med, a cooperative of scientists, is a pharmaceutical laboratory dedicated to the research, development, manufacture and marketing of high value-added pharmaceutical and healthcare products.

Its specialisation in smart nanohydrogels places it at the forefront of biomedical engineering. It develops advanced medical devices, controlled-release systems for active ingredients and solutions that improve health and quality of life.

Founded in 2013 and formally established as a scientific cooperative in 2014, i+Med has established itself as an international leader in the pharmaceutical sector.

From its headquarters in the Álava Technology Park, the company develops proprietary technologies applied to healthcare areas such as traumatology, dermatology, ophthalmology, aesthetics and veterinary medicine, offering comprehensive support throughout the entire development cycle, from R&D to regulatory approval and market-ready production.

The company combines scientific research, technology and in-house manufacturing, collaborating with pharmaceutical companies and international distributors. To date, i+Med has worked on technological projects with leading companies in the pharmaceutical industry in over 60 countries.

“Partnering with Robotekin presents an opportunity to continue driving forward new projects in robotics and automation applied to the biopharmaceutical sector. This collaboration will enable us to strengthen industrial capabilities, explore advanced automation solutions and forge new links with technology, industry and scientific stakeholders at both local and international levels,” say representatives from i+Med.
