The National Robotarium visits the Basque Country to learn about the Robotekin ecosystem

With the firm commitment to continue accelerating the Robotekin ecosystem, last December 9, 10 and 11 we received the visit at our headquarters in the Alava Technology Park of Steve Maclaren, CCO of The National Robotarium, the #Robotics and #ArtificialIntelligence center in the UK. A world leader in advancing research and innovation in these two fields and promoter of a dynamic research ecosystem focused on three distinct themes, including robotics, autonomous systems (#RAS) and human-robot interaction (#HRI).

“We create innovative solutions to global challenges, working directly with industry to test and develop robotic, artificial intelligence and automated technologies, and rapidly bring pioneering research from lab to market”, Maclaren noted in his presentation, which also put the spotlight on the center’s support for incubation and acceleration of technology start-ups. “We provide them with access to labs, offices, equipment and engineering expertise to develop their ideas, attract investment and shape the future of robotics”, the guest abounded.

In this context, Maclaren not only brought to Robotekin the experience accumulated by this center located on the Campus of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, but also wanted to soak up the Basque reality from a business, cultural and cooperative point of view, in addition to knowing the state of the art of robotics and automation in #Euskadi, through a full program of visits to several companies associated with our ‘Hub’ as IKERLAN, MGEP, Mercedes-Benz AG, CTA Foundation (Center for Aeronautical Technologies), Alias Robotics, SPRI Group and BIC Araba, where he had the opportunity to meet the projects of start up as Seaquenz, Novaut, EUROCYBCAR, Inalia Innovation and Development, E Process Med and Psifiacos.

“It has been three intense days of learning, dissemination and enhancement of leading and emerging ecosystems such as The National Robatorium and Robotekin, respectively. We ended with satisfaction and an agenda full of projects and challenges, but above all with the purpose of contemplating possible synergies for collaboration in the fields of robotics, automation or low-latency communication networks and generative Artificial Intelligence”, said our CEO, Erik Echaniz.

An exciting and challenging 2025 is coming!
