The first robotics and automation hub in the Basque Country continues to take steps that confirm not only its qualitative and organic growth but also the interest among the most representative agents of this sector. And all this barely three months since its official constitution as an Association.
The last of these inputs was confirmed during the last Extraordinary General Assembly, held on June 30 at the Alava Technology Park, where the incorporation of eleven new members to Robotekin was unanimously approved. With them, the extraordinary business representation that currently agglutinates the ‘Hub’ in everything related to the value chain in the fields of robotics and automation is strengthened.
The new associated entities are: DHL Exel Supply Chain, Álava Agencia de Desarrollo, Smartlog Services, Diseños Daco, Eroski, Ingemat, Inser Robótica, Instituto Europa, Centro de Tecnologías Aeronáuticas (CTA), Olive Robotics and Zenialab Automation Intelligence. These could soon be joined by another seven that are currently in the process of joining.
The eleven new members bring to almost 40 the number of entities that currently make up Robotekin, including companies, technology centers and universities.
During the Extraordinary General Assembly, it was also approved (unanimously) the enlargement of the Board of Directors of the Association, which goes from three to nine representatives and whose composition is as follows:
- Emilio Titos (Diputación Foral de Álava) – President
- Víctor Mayoral (Acceleration Robotics) – Vice president
- David Montero (BIC Araba) –Secretariat and Treasury
- Rafael Lamarca (DHL Exel Supply Chain) – Vocal
- Iñigo Trescastro (Solid Machine Vision) – Vocal
- Carlos Calleja (Ikerlan) – Vocal
- Manoli Igartua (UPV/EHU) – Vocal
- Xabier López (Egibide) – Vocal
- Endika Gil (Alias Robotics) – Vocal
The final part of the Assembly served to inform of the imminent announcement of the person who will take over the General Management of Robotekin, after an exhaustive selection process that brought together 41 candidates, and it was agreed to implement the figure of the ‘collaborating member’ in the day-to-day running of the Association with the aim of incorporating value and talent to Robotekin from outside.
