With the conviction of the path already started, the Board of Directors of Robotekin held recently (January 19) a new meeting to continue to underpin the main lines of its ‘Road Map’ for the coming years, to report on the two new members who have joined the Association and to officially introduce its Director, Erik Echaniz.
The meeting took place this time at Ikerlan’s facilities in Arrasate-Mondragón. It should be remembered that Ikerlan has been an associate member of our ‘Hub’ since its foundation and is immersed this year in its 50th anniversary. Congratulations from these lines for such a brilliant trajectory that its representative in Robotekin, Carlos Calleja, was in charge of reviewing.
Once the agenda for the meeting was completed, the members of the Board had the opportunity to get to know and visit Digilab, one of the hidden ‘jewels’ of this cooperative. It is a multi-technology space that since 2022 houses specialized state-of-the-art infrastructure for research in areas such as collaborative robotics, cybersecurity, safety and reliability, 5G communications, artificial intelligence and industry-oriented quantum computing.
In addition to the Board of Directors, Leyre Madariaga, Director of Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship of the Basque Government; Saray Zarate, Deputy for Economic Development and Innovation; and Ander Larrinaga, Director of Economic Development and Innovation, also attended the visit. We were all able to learn first-hand about some of the robotics-related projects in which Ikerlan is involved, some of them extremely disruptive, and the extraordinary scenario of opportunities that this field represents for the entire industrial value chain.
